In 1940s, poor lumber mill worker Noah Calhoun (Ryan Gosling) meet and fell in love with a girl who comes from a wealthy family, Allie (Rachel McAdams) in South Carolina. Social difference and World War II soon seems to serve as a the sharp blades to to mark a remarkable end to their love ties. In the interim when Noah goes off to serve as a veteran, Allie becomes involved with another man (James Marsden). Years after, when Noah returns,on the cusp of Allie's marriage, it becomes clear that their romance is anything but over.
